Naomi Klein: The Shock Doctrine at the Rio Theatre 10-17-08
Naomi Klein spoke at the Rio Theatre on Friday night to a sold out audience. A short documentary called "The Shock Doctrine" was shown which set the tone for her talk.
I recorded and produced a special radio program featuring the talk and Q@A. Excellent Photos by Matt Fitt Music by the latest Thievery Corporation 2008 release Radio Retaliation the track was 33 Degree. More photos are posted here at SCIMC.

The Shock Doctrine
Naomi's Book: The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism
In THE SHOCK DOCTRINE, Naomi Klein explodes the myth that the global free market triumphed democratically. Exposing the thinking, the money trail and the puppet strings behind the world-changing crises and wars of the last four decades, The Shock Doctrine is the gripping story of how America’s “free market” policies have come to dominate the world-- through the exploitation of disaster-shocked people and countries.

Spirit of Money exists in a (bad) english version, the other one
needs YOU to anglo-saxonise it.
..about those lyrics.
I think they are from the previous track on that release (The Forgotten People). I just happened to be trying to track (no pun intended) it down.
Naomi Klein is such a good author. I like her political view of reality and besides, her book "No logo" is still one of my favorites books ever!
